About the Report
Reading the economy: enabling a thoughtful human response
This report sets out links to publicly available information on the internet that has been read and collated by a number of people associated with the St Paul’s Marketplace Group. The intent is to offer readily accessible information links to public information on socio-economic matters which may help you have a broader understanding of what might be happening in the economy and possible flow-on effects into society. In particular it is intended to help you understand:
- the systemic economic and financial issues contributing to the current crisis
- the possible trajectories of the crisis, and
- what might be thoughtful human responses to it.
The lists in the Report are by no means exhaustive or indeed balanced. These are starter lists that have been collaboratively built up from numerous sources worldwide since mid-March 2009.
The Report includes links to certain biblical commentary and Christian reflections on the crisis. It is not a policy document and the views expressed or implied by the reference to any links do not necessarily represent the views of St Paul’s Church or the St Paul's Marketplace Group.
